Keep our hospital running. Support patient care through efficient, hands-on supply chain operations

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Storeperson to join our healthcare supply chain team at Macquarie University Hospital. In this permanent, full-time role, you will be responsible for picking, packing and receiving hospital items, ensuring clinical teams have the supplies they need, when they need them. As you become comfortable in the role, you will also take on product scanning responsibilities to support inventory accuracy and efficiency.

This is a hands-on position where your work directly impacts patient care. You will play an important part in driving efficiency throughout the supply chain process within a fast-paced hospital environment, ensuring that stock is ordered, received and delivered in a timely and effective manner. Based in a small to mid-size, standalone hospital in North Ryde — just 15km from Sydney's CBD and easily accessible by metro, you will be part of a supportive, collaborative team committed to operational excellence.

Experience working in a warehouse or stores environment, with healthcare or medical device sector experience highly desired

About the Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Picking, packing and receiving hospital supplies across wards, theatres and central stores
  • Scanning products and maintaining the day-to-day accuracy of stock levels once established in the role
  • Ordering and receipting goods in line with hospital supply procedures
  • Delivering stock to departments on schedule and obtaining signed confirmation
  • Investigating supply issues and sourcing alternatives when stock is delayed or unavailable
  • Conducting regular stock takes and assisting with goods returns and documentation
  • Liaising with department heads, couriers and vendor representatives to support efficient supply chain operations
  • Supporting WHS, infection control and departmental quality initiatives

You understand the urgency and responsiveness required in a hospital setting and take pride in ensuring clinical teams are well-supported through efficient logistics. Experience in the healthcare or medical device sector is highly desired.

Selection Criteria

  • Experience working in a warehouse or stores environment, with healthcare or medical device sector experience highly desired
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate stock records and documentation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey instructions clearly and interact effectively with team members and other departments
  • Ability to identify and resolve operational issues efficiently, ensuring smooth daily workflow
  • Effective time management to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines and ensure timely order fulfilment
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems and intermediate computer skills for data entry, inventory tracking and reporting
  • Experience handling customer inquiries and addressing concerns related to warehouse activities is highly regarded
